A lot has been said about the GMC Savana 1500 for 2008. As GMC’s entry in the standard passenger van market the Savana 1500 (and in this case specically the LS version) has maintained a solid reputation. The 3-door Savana 1500 is especially appealing to wide market segment, making it a perfect van to help GMC as a brand in general.

Performance

GMC Savana 1500 Engine Specs: The Savana 1500 LS comes outfitted with a Vortec 5.3 liter, 8-cylinder motor that uses 16 valves. The engine, manufactured by General Motors, is teamed up with a General Motors 4-speed transmission. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for GMC.

The Savana 1500 uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The van uses coil and leaf springs front and rear respectively.

Fuel is handled for the Savana 1500 is a SFI design, running on FLEX fuel. The FLEX is handled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 31.00 gallons.

Considering all factors the 2008 GMC Savana 1500 LS was a rowsing. GMC responded to critisims about the 2007 Savana 1500 and made drastic changes. The result is better than the sum of its parts. Look for more from GMC along these lines in the future.
