The 2007 Civic is an important vehicle to Honda for the sedan market segment. The GX is a member of a series of six trim levels for the Civic which include DX, Hybrid, EX, GX, LX, and Si. The four-door car with its front-wheel drive is positioned to aggressively fill this niche for Honda. There is strong competition from vehicles from Lexus.

Honda Civic Engine Specs

The Civic GX is equipped with a Honda 1.8 liter four-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The i-VTEC engine is mated to a Honda 5-speed Transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Honda.

For the 2007 Civic, the fuel configuration is a electronic PGM-FI, using CNG for fuel. A fuel-injected MFI configuration. The gas tank holds 13.20 gallons.

The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are drum. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Civic uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The Civic is 176.70 inches long, 69.00 inches wide, and 56.50 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 106.30 inches. It is able to seat 5 comfortably.

Pricing is an important consideration when buy a car. The Honda Civic lists at $18,710 when new. The dealer cost on the car was $17,127. This price was high compared to the industry average price for a 4-door sedan.

The standard warranty period for the Civic is 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the sedan market.

Fuel Efficiency

The 2007 Civic gets 38 miles/gallon on the highway and only 30 in the city. This is subpar for a sedan car.

The 2006 model began the promise of the Honda Civic. The 2007 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Honda hopes that the Civic GX will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
