The 2001 model began the promise of the GMC Sierra 1500. The 2002 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers GMC hopes that the Sierra 1500 SLE will continue to be a profitable vehicle.

    My spouse purchased mine for the 5.3 liter engine. Plus the 4-gear tranny.
