Our Review of the 2008 GMC Savana 1500 LS
Often you will find that buyers of the GMC Savana 1500 are very enthusiastic about their new van. The Savana 1500 has held a place among the top of the Savana 1500 line of van for more than a decade. GMC has reason to be proud; the GMC Savana 1500 comes under the heading of standard passenger van models that are suitable for families.
Performance
The restyled Savana 1500 LS is equipped with a General Motors 5.3-liter 8-cylinder engine that utilizes a total of 16 valves. The Vortec engine is paired with a General Motors 4-speed transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for GMC.
Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Savana 1500 has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The van uses torsion bar front springs and leaf in the rear.

There are several reasons why the GMC Savana 1500 LS sold well in 2008. Mainly the increase in availability and a marked improvement in quality meant the buying public was more apt to choose a GMC, specifically a Savana 1500.
There’s no doubt that GMC is up to it’s old tricks with the Savana 1500? I’m hoping next year’s example is improved.
